Design & Build
The N60 is a compact clip-on webcam that perches securely on laptop lids and monitors, with a manual privacy cover that slides over the lens, a genuinely useful touch that pricier cameras often skip. The base N60 offers a 110-degree wide angle and a built-in microphone, while the N60 Pro Gen 2 upgrades to a distortion-free lens, noise-reduction mic, and a USB-A to USB-C cable for modern machines.
Build quality is solid for the price, and the plug-and-play design means no drivers, just connect over USB and it works across Zoom, Teams, Skype, and OBS. The N660 business variant adds dual microphones for clearer voice pickup.
Performance
Image quality is the N60’s strong suit at its price. The 1080P sensor produces clean, well-detailed video in good lighting, and the wide angle comfortably frames one or two people. The built-in mic handles calls acceptably, though the noise-reduction mics on the Pro and dual-mic N660 noticeably improve voice clarity in busier rooms.
For those wanting more, the N60 Pro 4K steps up to a Sony sensor, autofocus, 1080p60 capture, and 4X digital zoom, a meaningful jump for streamers and content creators. The standard N60, though, remains the value sweet spot for everyday video calls.
Pros & Cons
- Crisp 1080P video that punches above its price.
- Built-in privacy cover for peace of mind.
- True plug-and-play across all major conferencing apps.
- Family options from basic N60 to 4K Pro and dual-mic N660.
- Basic microphone on the standard model.
- No autofocus on the base N60 (Pro adds it).
- Low-light performance is average, as with most budget webcams.
Alternatives to Consider
If you want sharper detail and autofocus for streaming, the NexiGo N60 Pro 4K with its Sony sensor is the clear upgrade. Business users who prioritize voice clarity should look at the dual-microphone N660, while budget shoppers open to other brands can consider the Acer 1080p webcam with noise cancellation as a comparable value pick.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the NexiGo N60 need software or drivers?
No. It’s fully plug-and-play over USB and works immediately with Zoom, Teams, Skype, and OBS on Windows and Mac.
Is the built-in microphone good enough for meetings?
For quiet rooms, yes. In noisier settings, the Pro’s noise-reduction mic or the N660’s dual mics deliver clearer voice pickup.
Should I get the N60 or the N60 Pro 4K?
Choose the standard N60 for everyday calls on a budget, and the Pro 4K if you stream or want autofocus and higher resolution.
Does the privacy cover really help?
Yes. The physical sliding cover guarantees the lens is blocked when not in use, which software toggles can’t match for peace of mind.
Verdict
The NexiGo N60 remains a standout budget 1080P webcam, delivering clean video, a privacy cover, and effortless setup at a low price. Everyday callers should grab the standard N60, while streamers and business users are better served by the N60 Pro 4K or dual-mic N660.
